Camera shy? 6 ways to show up without your face
You don't need to be a natural on camera to build a personal brand. Six ways to start posting without showing your face, and how to build up to it.

You don't need to be a camera person
I hear it every week: I'm just not a camera person. Most people who are great on camera weren't at the start. They built up to it. And plenty of strong brands barely show a face at all.
Six ways to show up
Show your hands doing the work. Use your voice over B-roll. Make text-led carousels. Film POV shots of your day. Share behind the scenes. Let client results do the talking. Every one of these builds trust without you staring down a lens.
Build up to it
Start with your voice, then your hands, then a silhouette, then 15 seconds to camera. Each step makes the next one easier. Most of my clients who start camera shy are comfortable talking to camera within a few weeks.
Why faces still matter, eventually
People buy from people. A face builds trust faster than anything else on a feed. But trust also comes from consistency, proof and a clear voice, and you can build all three before you ever show your face.
Make the first video easier
Film when nobody is around. Talk to one person you know, not an audience. Use notes off to the side of the lens. Do five takes and only keep the last one, because the first few are always warm-ups.
On my shoots, the take people end up loving is almost never the first. It's the one after they've stopped thinking about the camera.
Pick one format and repeat it
Choose one of the six formats and post it every week for a month. Repetition is what makes it feel normal. Once that format is easy, add the next step. That's how camera shy turns into camera ready.
