What 260K views in 30 days taught me
Real numbers, straight from my insights. Six lessons from a month where one reel did a quarter of the work, and what I'm changing because of it.

One reel did a quarter of the work
Last month my account hit 260K views. One reel got 1,212 shares, when my typical post gets around 12. That single reel reached over 52,000 accounts, almost all of them people who didn't follow me.
The six lessons
Shares beat likes, because shares push a post to new people. Reels grow, carousels convert: reels reach strangers, carousels reach the people who already follow you. Relatable beats technical. Saves show you what's actually useful. Profile visits aren't clients: 2,443 visits turned into 51 link taps. And post when your people are awake, not when it suits you.
What I'm changing
More relatable reels to reach new people, more carousels to turn followers into enquiries, and a profile that works harder for the people who land on it. Views are the start of the funnel, not the end.
Read your insights like a business owner
Likes feel good but tell you very little. Shares tell you what people want others to see. Saves tell you what people want to come back to. Profile visits tell you who's curious. Link taps and DMs tell you who's ready to talk.
Each one maps to a stage: reach, trust, interest, action. When I look at numbers this way, I know which post to make next.
Why relatable wins reach
My most technical posts get saved by other filmmakers. My most relatable ones get shared by everyone. If you want new people, talk about the feeling first and the technique second.
Fix the leak before chasing more views
2,443 profile visits and 51 link taps means 98% of curious people left without acting. More views wouldn't fix that. A clearer bio, pinned posts that sell, and one obvious next step would. That's the work I'm doing this month.
